Who we are

This website is operated by DHIRA Software Labs Pvt. Ltd. ("DHIRA", "we", "us"). For the personal data described here we are the data fiduciary under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act 2023, and the controller under the EU General Data Protection Regulation where it applies.

This policy covers the website and the enquiries you send through it. When an organisation uses Akashic, the personal data it puts into the platform is processed under that organisation's agreement with us and our data processing agreement, not under this policy.

What we collect

• Details you send us: your name, work email, organisation, area of interest and message, when you use a contact or enquiry form.
• Your email address, if you subscribe to Insights or event invitations.
• Technical data your browser sends with every request, such as IP address, browser type and the pages requested, kept in server logs for security.
• Two preferences stored in your own browser: your light or dark appearance, and the region you choose. These stay on your device.

Why we use it

• To reply to your enquiry and arrange the conversation you asked for. The basis is your consent, given when you send the form, and our legitimate interest in answering it.
• To send the updates you subscribed to, until you unsubscribe. The basis is your consent.
• To keep the website secure and working. The basis is our legitimate interest in protecting the service.
• To meet legal obligations, such as responding to lawful requests from authorities.

We do not sell personal data, and we do not use it to train AI models.

Who we share it with

Service providers who host the website, deliver email and manage our enquiries process personal data on our instructions, under contracts that require them to protect it. We disclose personal data to authorities only when the law requires it.

Where it is processed

We work from India and the United States, so your data may be processed in either country. Where data leaves the country it was collected in, we rely on the safeguards the applicable law provides, such as contractual protections.

How long we keep it

Enquiries are kept for as long as we need them to respond and follow up, and then deleted or anonymised. Subscriptions last until you unsubscribe. Security logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted.

Your rights

You may ask us to tell you what personal data we hold about you, to correct or complete it, and to erase it. You may withdraw consent at any time, which does not affect processing already done. Under the DPDP Act you may also nominate another person to exercise your rights, and you may raise a grievance with us and then with the Data Protection Board of India. Where the GDPR applies you may also object to or restrict processing, ask for your data in a portable form, and complain to your supervisory authority.

Children

This website is for organisations and their people. It is not directed at children, and we do not knowingly collect children's personal data.

Security

We protect personal data with encryption in transit, access control and monitoring. How Akashic secures the data it holds is set out on the Akashic page.
